We began the season in April as a "Guest Racer" at the Eric Bostrom Racing 2 Save Lives Event at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. Following Utah, we drove East to Alabama for our first round of AMA at Barber Motorsports Park. Qualifying did not go as well as I had planned, but continually dropped time and missed the cutoff by a small margin. After not riding for many months, I felt I was able to accomplish alot at both events and was able to get both my shoulder and head back to 100%!

Following Barber, we headed to farm country in Iowa to test and get some seat time. After three days of rain and one crash, I feel more confident about my shoulder and riding in the rain!

Next weekend, I will be going to the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown at Infineon Raceway, May 19-21, in support of Kawasaki. I will not be racing, but helping promote Kawasaki and participating in a trackday with journalists and more.

Following Infineon, I will be going to Roadamerica for the next round of AMA. I will be racing in both Formula Extreme and Supersport! RA is a favorite and strong track of mine. Speed will be doing some exclusive coverage of me racing at this event. Following, RA, I will be headed to Miller Motorsports Park for a WERA race followed by the next round of AMA. Miller will be looking to promote my racing and I, being I had competed professionally in Utah for many years as a snowboarder along with their excitement of a female racing at Miller.

Kawasaki has many things planned to help promote my racing! Stay tuned for more National TV and print appearances, plus some high-level mainstream exposure!!

I began my WERA West Novice club racing "career" on my 2005 Suzuki GSX-R750 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on April 9, 2006. It was my first race, and my only track experience had been track days, so my nervousness was off the charts! Struggling to keep my hands from shaking, I finished both of my races, B Superstock and B Superbike, near the end of the pack. Discouraged and frustrated, I was ready to quit. But I kept on, and I’m glad I did!

The season turned out to be unforgettable. I started getting faster and finishing higher in the rankings, late in the season finishing third and then second. By now I realized how much I loved racing...until my last race at LVMS. The practice day went horribly. There was a new configuration to the track with an added haybale chicane that scared me to death. I couldn’t relax on the bike, couldn’t get the suspension dialed in and was ready to go home. But I persevered, and on race day the track was returned to its usual configuration--apparently I wasn't the only one who disliked it. My bike felt great in practice, I lined up on the grid, got the holeshot, led the race and won! It was the perfect end to my not-so-perfect season.

I finished second in points in B Superstock and third in points in B Superbike, which bumped me up to Expert status. So this year is going to be tough. Even if I never win another race, I’ll be getting great experience riding with the fast guys.

Dear PbP Racing Sponsors:
A full race report has been posted on our website...

Races didn't go as well as I liked. I'm pretty disappointed actually, I didn't finish the womens race. I was just starting to get comfortable with some of the girls at the back of the pack and still need to work on my gearing so when I was coming out of a turn before even finishing the first race lap, gave it gas with no response, went wide and had a little motocross expedition. Everything was okay so I went back out there but the handling was off..like a car needing a bad alignment so I came back in. The clip ons needed to be adjusted.

I did finish the SV cup (last but placed 15th out of 18 riders) and that was a lot of fun. I think my best times were in that race but Parts National Canada does not post the best times, just positions, came in last there but at least I finished. I was just getting comfortable with the lines too.

It was a pretty awful weekend weatherwise. Rain and even HAIL. I was on rain tires for the first time ever. Schedule kept on being pushed back and our races took place so late...by the time we left, we actually got HOME at 6 am on Monday morning UGH!! The track is even longer than Mid Ohio and more complicated!!! Lots of turns to remember on the long portion and late apexes. I know what I am going to be working at for our Crooked River Invitational Day and I'm looking forward to improving my corner work and gearing so that I can shave off more of those precious seconds.

Next race: Dorjan will be out racing at Nelson's Ledges in June with Fasttrax.

I first got introduced to racing after completing the Kevin Schwantz Suzuki School at Road Atlanta. Not long after the school, I found myself converting my GSXR600 street bike to a full race-prepped machine. My first year of racing I took home a third place finish in my third race ever! I was instantly hooked!

With the 2006 season in hand, and after having clinched the Novice championship, I am ready to take on my Expert/ Amateur season in 2007! Having recently been signed by Kahuna Kawasaki, I am looking forward to riding the all new Kawasaki ZX-6R! These bikes look AMAZING and I cannot wait to test them out! With the support from Kahuna and all of my other sponsors, 2007 is looking to be a fun year!

My focus for 2007 will be to compete in the R.A.C.E Regional superseries at Shannonville Motorsports Park in Ontario, as well as select rounds of the National Amateur 600 and the Women’s Cup Challenge, all being run as part of the Parts Canada Canadian Superbike series.
